Crescendo - THC Design Zen 3.5g (Sativa)
THC - 32.0%
Crescendo is a Sativa strain that lives up to its aspirational name. Bred from the combined powers of a Chem Dawg x I-95 x Mandarin Cookies cross, this is known as a very mellow and smooth smoke. The flavor comes straight from its Chem Dawg heritage, with a strong taste of diesel and earth, and a hint of citrus.
The average THC level of 25-30% sounds heavier than it hits: the strong Sativa lean makes this a suitable morning or daytime smoke. Cerebral effect is pronounced, with a hazy and uplifting trip into the clouds that is mentally active, but not overly intoxicating. Physical effects are more mild, limited to a serene and pleasant body high that is not sedating. This is an appealing strain for managing symptoms of stress, depression, and fatigue.
Crescendo is named after the musical term that signifies a gradual increase in intensity or loudness. This highly potent strain is originally crossbred in Denver, Colorado, by Ethos Genetics. Chemdog, I-95, and Mandarin Cookies to form this unique Sativa-dominant hybrid strain.
The effects have been described by consumers as mellow, leading to a more cerebral active high, but not overly intoxicating. Crescendo’s balanced nature makes for a great morning, afternoon, and evening medication.
The name “Sativa” was once considered to be an accurate description for ALL cannabis, and taxonomically speaking, it’s still the botanical name for all varietals. We expect that to change in the near future. The strains typically have narrower leaves and grow taller than Indica strains due to the climate where they evolved. The higher humidity and temperature are required for the plants to stretch for increased airflow between the flowers.
Some scientists now consider there to be more than the commonly known 3 varietals (Sativa, Indica, and hybrid) and have begun grouping different cultivars into what are now several chemotypes (THC-dominant, CBD-dominant with low THC, CBD dominant with no THC, mixed dominance, myrcene-dominant, limonene and caryophyllene-dominant, terpinolene-dominant, and more).
Experienced cannabis users would likely agree that we need even more nuance than the existing categories and scientific knowledge currently allow. We recommend making notes of which cultivars or strains work best for you, since everyone’s endocannabinoid system is different and different cultivars will affect each individual uniquely.
Physical Effects of Sativa Strains
In recent years, the strains have been stereotyped as strains or cultivars that have uplifting, euphoric properties, typically used for depression, enhancing creativity, and mood regulation. However, Sativa strains (and Indicas) are better classified by their physical characteristics and growth patterns than they are for their effects.
