Q: How do I use the syringe?
A: Click here to learn how to use and troubleshoot an Emerald Bay Extracts syringe.
Q: Has this product been lab-tested?
A: All Emerald Bay products have been submitted for testing by a leading, independent cannabis lab at three separate points in the production process. To confirm no contaminants are present, we test cannabis at the farm prior to purchase. After processing cannabis into RSO, it is tested again to confirm initial results and ensure no pesticides or other contaminants are present. Products are then packaged for consumer sale, and the same independent lab visits our manufacturing facility to select random samples for potency, pesticide, heavy metal, mycotoxin, and residual solvent testing. Only after passing this final test are our products offered for sale.
Q: What is the difference between RSO and other cannabis extracts?
A: Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) is a special type of full-spectrum extract first produced by legendary Canadian cannabis pioneer Rick Simpson. An engineer by training, Rick Simpson developed a new way of extracting cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from cannabis that does minimal damage to these delicate compounds. RSO has served as the gold standard of medicinal cannabis products for more than two decades.
Q: What is the difference between Emerald Bay RSO Syringes and Tablets?
A: Emerald Bay RSO Syringes contain pure RSO extract in the simplest oral format imaginable — a plunger syringe. Emerald Bay Extracts Tablets, on the other hand, consist solely of RSO and microcrystalline cellulose, the primary component of many tablets, mints, and candies, as well as silicon dioxide - a normal additive to pharmaceutical tablets and supplements to allow them to be pressed into a pill. RSO tablets, for instance, absorb almost entirely through the digestive tract while a considerable amount of the RSO in a syringe is absorbed through the mouth if applied sublingually. Syringes are also inherently messier but offer more pinpoint dosing while taking up less space. Tablets come in a slightly larger package and must be chewed, but they’re also more discreet than syringes.
Q: Which solvent do you use to extract cannabis?
A: Our products are extracted using food-grade ethanol. We designed a custom system specifically for extracting cannabis, taking extra effort to preserve the full cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile present in the plant.
Q: Does any trace alcohol remain in the products?
A: No, we subject our RSO to an additional extraction stage to ensure that all traces of ethanol have been removed. In a closed chamber, RSO is gently heated with exterior water to ensure proper burnoff of any residual ethanol is fully achieved.
Q: Can I smoke Emerald Bay RSO?
A: We do not recommend that you smoke or vape Emerald Bay Extracts RSO. This type of extract is not designed for inhalation. On the contrary, we formulate our RSO specifically to be as delicious and easy-to-swallow as possible, focusing on the culinary aspects of our extract. You are free to use our RSO how you deem safe and appropriate, but understand that these products are designed for oral consumption only.
Q: Is this product intoxicating?
A: Any Emerald Bay Extracts products that contain THC are liable to have intoxicating properties. Products containing CBD or CBG, on the other hand, will not have intoxicating effects unless THC is also included. Unlike THC, most other cannabinoids are non-intoxicating, so any Emerald Bay Extracts CBD or CBG products will not get you high.
Q: How do I get oil out if the syringe is stuck?
A: Some of our RSO strains are quite sticky! To get the oil in your syringe flowing again, all you need to do is heat it slightly. Hold it close to body heat for a few minutes, or run it under medium-hot water for around 30 seconds. After being heated, your RSO will be much less viscous and ready to be squeezed out of its syringe.
Q: How much Emerald Bay RSO should I take?
A: Ideal dosage of RSO varies depending on the person and the cannabinoid. When trying THC RSO for the first time or as an inexperienced user, for instance, it’s best to stick with 5mg or less. Some of our high-tolerance customers battling serious conditions, however, use as much as an entire 1g THC syringe per day, showing how dosage all depends on context. With cannabinoids that are not intoxicating, starting at a low dose usually isn’t as important. Still, we recommend starting with a low dose of our CBG or CBD RSO just to give your body time to acclimate and your mind space to adjust.
Q: Can I break Emerald Bay RSO tablets in half?
A: Yes, all of our RSO tablets are designed to be broken in half if desired. Note the indentation running through the middle of each tablet. Just hold the tablet between the thumb and forefingers of both hands, and apply pressure along that indentation. The tablet should snap in half roughly evenly, allowing you to save half for later if desired.
Q: How do I get my RSO tablet container open?
A: Your Emerald Bay Extracts RSO Tablet container features a child-proof safety lid that is released by applying pressure and sliding the seal backward. Holding your tablet container in one hand, use the thumb of the other hand to push back firmly on the lid. Then, use the thumbnail on the same hand to flip the lid upward.
Q: Can I add Emerald Bay RSO to food and drinks?
A: Yes, including Emerald Bay RSO in your next meal, snack, or beverage is an ideal way to ingest this high-potency extract. Some customers dislike the strong flavor of cannabis extract, and adding RSO to a drink or food item masks the taste quite well. Just keep in mind that heating your RSO above approximately 150°F could damage its precious terpenes and flavonoids, so consider avoiding adding RSO to hot meals or drinks.
Q: How long do the effects of Emerald Bay RSO last?
A: The duration of effects offered by our RSO tablets varies depending on the dose and the user, but in general, a 2-4 hour window of primary effects will be experienced regardless of your metabolism or the dose of RSO ingested. Our medicinal customers often choose to take another dose of RSO every six hours or so to ensure continuous effects throughout the day.
Q: Are your products Gluten Free?
A: All of our tablets and syringes are formulated without gluten. However, our food-grade ethanol is made from corn and can be cross-contaminated with wheat during the manufacturing process. Therefore, we recommend caution when using our products for those who have a severe gluten allergy.
